Come, learn and experiment with different art techniques !
다양한 미술 테크닉을 배우고 시도하러 오세요!
Through this 9-week long workshop participants will create a collaborated printmaking piece by combining Korean ink painting and different materials and other techniques such as Mulberry paper, colored hanji paper or a wash technique. Inspired by one of Queens Museum’s exhibition artwork, participants will learn basics of ink painting as well as techniques on printmaking such as simple woodcut or linoleum cut to create unique artworks. For example, students will have the option to draw a background on Korean traditional paper with ink painting, and use this paper for printmaking. Or vice versa, make a print first and then add strokes of ink or wash later.
이 수업에서 학생들은 판화기법과 수묵화의 기법을 혼합 사용하여 작품을 만들게 될것 입니다. (예를 들어 수묵화에 사용하는 한지에 발묵 기법으로 배경을 회화적으로 칠한후 판화를 찍는다거나, 혹은 판으로 찍어낸 작품에 붓터치를 더할수도 있습니다)
첫 4주동안은 퀸스뮤지엄의 전시 작품중 하나를 모티브로 판화를 구상하고 구체적인 디자인을 하는 동시에 기본 수묵화 재료 사용하는 법을 배우게 될것입니다. 마지막 4주 동안은 판을 깍아 판화의 본판을 준비하고 수묵화 재료로 필요한 그림을 그리게 될것입니다. 수묵화의 기본 발묵법과 필법의 시범이 수업 내용에 포함됩니다.
Seongmin Ahn received an M.F.A. in Asian traditional painting from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea and an M.F.A from Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work transforms Asian traditional painting into something experimental with personal interpretations, working to bridge tradition with our milieu, and East with West. She has exhibited locally and internationally, also received prestigious awards and grants including Pollock Krasner Foundation grant.
안성민은 서울대학교 동양화과와 동대학원, 메릴랜드 미술대학원을 졸업하였다. 한국전통을 시작점으로 그만의 시각으로 전통과 현대, 동양과 서양을 연결하는 실험적인 작업을 해오고 있다.
델라웨어 컨템포러리 아트센터(델라웨어), 아이슬립 뮤지엄(아이슬립, 뉴욕), 퀸스컬리지 아트센터(플러싱 뉴욕), 뉴욕 한지프로젝트 등 15회의 개인전과 수많은 그룹전에 참가 하였다. 뉴욕 알재단(AHL foundation) 공모전 대상, 잭슨 폴록 재단 그랜트 등을 수상 하였으며, 워싱턴 포스트, 필라텔피아 인콰이어러, 클리브랜드 플래인 딜러, 뉴욕 아트 메거진, 볼티모어 선 등지에 기사가 났다.
