Geometric Image (Sketching) – December 17th, 2023.
Our last meeting of the year occurred on a rainy Sunday again. It seems like every time we schedule our workshop, it rains. For ancient civilizations, Rain was considered a positive thing. After all, rain is water coming from the sky. So let the rain inspire us!
For this session, we focused on creating images using geometric shapes and straight lines only (no curves this time), so the carving part of the process was more accessible. We used native decorative designs from Mexico as a starting point.
By the end of the class, we shared snacks and light drinks to celebrate the holiday season.
We have noticed that our group is getting smaller. We want you all to know this workshop is ongoing with the same group (no need to sign up again). We have four more classes to go.
If you have missed classes, please do not hesitate to return; our instructor is happy to catch you up and keep going.
We hope you have had a lovely Holiday season and are ready for the next class. We will print using the printing Press, which now has a new table thanks to our devoted friends, Veronica and Jaime.

Nuestra última clase del año tuvo lugar en un día lluvioso. Parece que cada vez que programamos nuestro taller llueve. Para las civilizaciones antiguas, la lluvia era considerada como algo positivo.
Al fin y al cabo, la lluvia es agua que cae del cielo. ¡Así que dejemos que la lluvia nos inspire! Para esta clase, nos concentramos en crear imágenes utilizando únicamente formas geométricas y líneas rectas (esta vez no usamos linea curvas) para que el proceso de tallado fuera más fácil. Asi fue como usamos como punto de partida, diseños decorativos de las cullturas antiguas Mexicanas.
Al final de la clase compartimos refrigerios y bebidas ligeras para celebrar la temporada navideña.
Hemos notado que nuestro grupo es cada vez más pequeño. Queremos que informarles que este taller continúa siendo para el mismo grupo, no es necesario volver a inscribirse. Nos quedan 4 clases más. Si alguien ha faltado a las clases, no dude en Volver. Nuestra instructora estará encantada de ponerlos al día para continuar.
Esperamos que hayan tenido unas felices fiestas y estén listos para la próxima clase. Estaremos usando la presa, que ahora tiene mesa nueva, gracias a nuestros amigos: Verónica y Jaime.
