As we get to the end of the year, we are getting closer to the end of the Intro to Printmaking workshop. We have two more classes and a few other things to learn and experiment with. In the Fourth session of the series Intro to Printmaking, we made two color Monotypes using stencils.
In the first part of the class, we printed a solid color (white or black) on paper using a gel plate. This would be the background color. Then our instructor demonstrated how to print the second color using the stencil. For this session, we were not paying much attention to a perfect registration, rather we focused on experimenting with the stencils and inks to
get the hang of it.
As the class went on, we saw excitement each time someone got a two-color print. Our instructor mentioned that the next week we do not have class because of the holidays, and we will get together again on January 3 rd, right after the New Year.

A medida que nos acercamos al final del año, también llegamos al final del taller de Introducción al Grabado. Nos quedan dos clases más y algunas otras cosas para aprender y experimentar.
En la Cuarta sesión de la serie de Introducción al Grabado, realizamos Monotipos a dos colors utilizando esténciles. En la primera parte de la clase, imprimimos un color sólido (blanco o negro) en papel usando la placa de gel. Este iba a ser el color de fondo. Luego, nuestra instructora hizo una demostración de cómo imprimir el segundo color usando la plantilla.
Para esta sesión, no prestamos mucha atención al registro perfecto, nos enfocamos más en experimentar con las plantillas y las tintas para así alcanzar un dominio del la técnica y el procesoA medida que avanzaba la clase, vimos emoción cada vez que alguien obtenía una impresión de 2 colores. Nuestra instructora mencionó que la próxima semana no tendremos clase debido a las vacaciones, y nos reuniremos nuevamente el 3 de enero, justo después del Año Nuevo.
