This was the second class of the workshop series Intro to Printmaking.
We started by reviewing the vocabulary learned in the first session. Our instructor gave special attention to the difference between Monotype and Monoprint. Then she said the class was going to have two parts. We experimented with mark-making on the gel plate using different tools in the first part of the class.
Everybody had the opportunity to make their print. Some people brought materials to experiment with. We saw fascinating outcomes. As everyone was very excited working in small groups, we spent the entire class making Monotypes and exploring mark-making as a challenge. We did not have time for the second part, Monotype using stencils.

Empezamos repasando el vocabulario aprendido en la primera sesión. Nuestra instructora prestó especial atención a la diferencia entre monotipo y monocopia. Luego dijo que la clase iba a tener 2 partes. En la primera parte de la clase, experimentamos con marcas en la placa de gel utilizando diferentes herramientas.
Todo el mundo tuvo la oportunidad de hacer su impresión. Algunas personas trajeron materiales para experimentar. Vimos resultados muy interesantes. Como todo el mundo estaba muy emocionado trabajando en pequeños grupos, pasamos toda la clase haciendo monotipos explorando la creación de marcas como un reto. No tuvimos tiempo para la segunda parte, que iba a consistir en hacer monotipos con plantillas.
