This New New Yorkers event marks not only the end of the year but the end of “Spaces that Learn”. This particular event at the Queens Museum is both an opening to display the work from a variety of workshops hosted by the NNY, and an opportunity to take part in one last series of “Spaces that Learn” workshops.
Este evento marca no solo el fin de año para la comunidad de los New New Yorkers, sino tambien el final de “Espacios que aprenden”, una serie de talleres en colaboracion con la Escuela de Arquitectura y Planificación de Graduados de la Universidad de Columbia, el Queens Museum, Project Luz , Mujeres en Movimiento y otros espacios públicos. Este evento en particular en el Museo de Queens es tanto una instancia para mostrar la variedad de talleres brindados a la comunidad de NNY, como tambien una oportunidad para participar en una última serie de talleres “Espacios que aprenden” que estaran este domingo 16 abiertos al público.

Workshops happening this Sunday, Dec. 16 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Unisphere Gallery – Queens Museum 2nd. floor, are:
1) Story Spinner: Exercises in narrative and story-telling.
2) Mask Maker: Learn to make masks.
3) Urban Garden: Learn to make a hydroponic garden.
4) Tools for All: Learn about building tools in all languages.
5) The Survival Guide: A guidebook of how to survive in NYC.
Los talleres enseñarán cómo diseñar mejores espacios a través del aprendizaje y la colaboración de la comunidad y presentarán los nuevos diseños que se han hecho para los grupos de la comunidad y el resto de Queens en general.
5 estaciones de taller estarán abiertas 1:00 – 4:00pm
1) Spinner de cuentos: ejercicios de narrativa y narración de cuentos.
2) Mask Maker: Aprende a hacer máscaras.
3) Jardínes urbanos: aprender a hacer un jardín hidropónico.
4) Herramientas para todos: Aprenda acerca de herramientas en todos los idiomas.
5) La Guía de supervivencia: una guía de cómo sobrevivir en Nueva York.

These workshops will teach how to design better spaces through learning and community collaboration and present new designs that have been made for community groups and the rest of Queens at large.
