Sat Mask Making
Shouan gave us a workshop on how to create masks using technology and artmaking. She was inspired by the transgender community of Queens and the question mark that people puts on their identity. She started the workshop asking about our mood past, present and future. And we sketch a selfie. Later she introduced us to the mask making an artifact, where we can project a pattern or any design over the mask, trace it and paint it.
Vivica loves tigers so she made a tiger mask, she even ad the yellow ears on it.
In the end, all shared about our many identities within ourselves.
This workshop is part of the partnership that NNY has with Columbia GSAAP and artist Sol Aramendi to create work inspired in the immigrant community of Queens. We will have our end of the project celebration on December 16.
