Queridos New NewYorkers,

Quisieramos felicitarlos, por su gran trabajo, esfuerzo y dedicación, demostrados en esta primera sesión.  La maestra Maritza Wu, nos preparó material impreso para esta primera clase. Ustedes lo podrán revisar y practicar en sus casas, así estarán listos para la siguiente sesión.

Tenemos varios recordatorios:

• Recuerden que los conocimientos se irán sumando, por eso es muy importante llegar temprano a cada sesión, y en lo posible, por favor traten de no faltar;
• Por favor algo muy importante, además recuerden traer a clase su carnet de la biblioteca de Queens. Si no lo han sacado aun, es un proceso muy fácil, gratuito, y no demora más de 5 minutos: solo deberán llevar un ID y una prueba de dirección (recibo de luz, teléfono, o carta donde se muestre su dirección). Estos documentos se los muestran a la bibliotecaria y deberán llenar un formulario. Luego les darán su carnet de la biblioteca en ese mismo día.
• Por favor traer a cada clase un USB para guardar sus trabajos realizados en cada sesión.
• Opcional, si desean podrán traer un mouse para las laptop que estamos usando, si eso les permite trabajar más confortables durante clase.
• Por favor, revisen su correo, porque les estaremos enviando el link del blog que se realiza cada semana; así como también material para que ustedes puedan revisarlos en casa relacionados a la clase pasada y a la clase que viene.

La maestra Wu,  les ha enviado directamente a sus correos el material de la clase en un documento.

Brevemente en esta primera sesión vimos cómo trabajar con texto, elementos básicos de HTML. Elementos del encabezado: negrilla, itálico,  líneas, tachado. Luego procedimos a trabajar con listas  y finalmente como trabajar con colores en HTML.

I would like to congratulate you, for your hard work, effort and dedication, demonstrated in this first session. Our professor Maritza Wu, printed material for this first class. You will be able to review and practice with it at home, so you will be ready for the next session.

We have several  friendly reminders:

• Remember that knowledge will be added, so it is very important to arrive early to each session, and if possible, please try not to miss;
• Please, something very important, also remember to bring your library card from Queens to class. If you don’t have it yet it… don’t worry, it is a very easy, free process, and won’t take more than 5 minutes of your time. You only need have to bring an ID and a proof of address (ConEdison or phone bill, or letter showing your address on it). You have to show them to the librarians and they must fill out a form. Then they will give you their library card that same day.
• Please bring a USB to each class to save your work done in each session.
• Optional: if you wish you can bring a mouse for the laptop that we are using if that allows you to work more comfortable during class.
• Please check your email, because we will be sending you the blog link that is made every week; as well as material for you to review at home related to the last class and the next class.

Professor Wu has sent the class material directly to your email address.

Briefly, in this first session, we saw how to work with text, basic elements of HTML. Elements of the heading: bold, italic, lines. Then we proceeded to work with lists, and finally how to work with colors in HTML.
