En esta sesión #4 de nuestro taller de Arte y ESOL empezamos con el juego de ‘lanzar la pelota’, en el cual la maestra Estella lanza la pelota a un alumno(a) y le hace una pregunta. En esta ocasión, la maestra hizo preguntas en general:
- Que haces en tu tiempo libre?
- Hace cuánto tiempo estas en la ciudad de Nueva York?, etc.
Los estudiantes deberán responder usando oraciones completas, y la maestra les ayudara a mejorar la pronunciación y construcción de la oración.
Luego hicimos una actividad en grupos, en la cual cada grupo tendría un secretario(a) el cual escribiría:
Que es comunidad? Una comunidad es_______________________________________________________________________.
Que necesita una comunidad? Una comunidad necesita ______________________, ___________________ y _____________________________.
Que podemos hacer para hacer nuestra comunidad más fuerte?Podemos hacer nuestra comunidad más fuerte __________________________________________________________________________.
Luego, realizamos dos ejercicios de pronunciación.
Después hicimos dos trabajos escritos individualmente: Que me hace sentir feliz o me ilumina el ánimo? y que cosas odio?
- Estas son las 5 cosas que me hacen feliz y
- estas las 5 cosas que odio.
Finalmente, hicimos un trabajo de arte usando la técnica de acuarelas. El maestro, pintor profesional y gerente del Programa New NewYorkers: Sr. Guido Garaycochea, nos enseno una técnica para decorar un marco de papel grueso con el que va a estar enmarcado nuestro poema final.
Les queremos felicitar a todos los alumnos, por el gran trabajo realizado durante clase utilizando acuarelas, incluso algunos usando este material por primera vez.
In this session #4 of our Art and ESOL workshop we started with the game of ‘throwing the ball’, in which our teacher Estella throws the ball to a student and asks a question to an each student. On this occasion, the teacher asked questions in general:
- What do you do in your free time?
- How long have you been in New York City? Etc.
Students should respond using complete sentences, and the teacher will help them improve the pronunciation and construction of the sentence.
Then we did an activity in groups, in which each group would have a secretary (a) who would write:
What is a community? A community is ____________________________________________________________________________.
What does a community need? A community needs ________, _____ and ____.
What can we do to make our community stronger? We can make our community stronger by ____________________________________________________________________________.
Then, we performed two pronunciation exercises. Later we did two works written individually: What makes me feel happy or does my mood light up? What are things that I hate the most?
- These are the 5 things that make me happy and
- These are the 5 things I hate.
Finally, we did an art work using watercolor art thercnique. The teacher, professional painter and manager of the New NewYorkers Program: Mr. Guido Garaycochea, taught us a technique to decorate a thick paper frame with which our final poem will be framed.
We would like to congratulate all the students, for the great work done during this class using watercolors, even some using this material for the first time.
