Queridos New NewYorkers,

En nuestra primera sesión del taller de inglés y Arte empezamos haciendo en conjunto las reglas de nuestro curso.

Luego trabajamos en parejas entrevistándose mutuamente, para posteriormente presentar a la clase al compañero con el que se trabajó.

Aprendimos que hay palabras que han cambiado; como por ejemplo, ya no se usa más housewife, ahora se usa homemaker.

Además vimos el uso de his (masculino) y her (femenino).  Jose is studying English to help his children with their homework.  Maria is studying English to help her children with their homework.

Luego jugamos a ‘tirar la pelota para hacer una pregunta’, en el cual cada alumno le debía hacer una pregunta a la profesora.

Finalmente revisamos las partes de la oración, dimos ejemplos de cada parte y se realizó una conclusión final de la clase.

Les queremos agradecer su entusiasmo,  buen trabajo, esfuerzo y dedicación para esta clase, los cuales les ayudaran a desarrollar sus habilidades en el idioma inglés.

In our first session of the English and Art workshop, we started by making the rules of our course together. Then we worked in pairs interviewing each other, to later present the class to the classmate with whom we worked.

 We learned that there are words that have changed; for example, the word housewife is no longer used, now the word homemaker is used.

We also saw the use of his (male) and her (female). Jose is studying English to help his children with their homework. Maria is studying English to help her children with their homework.

Then we played ‘throwing the ball to ask a question’, in which each student had to ask the teacher a question.

Finally, we reviewed the parts of the sentence, we gave examples of each one and a final conclusion of the class was made.
