Empezamos la session 5 en nuestra casa: El Museo de Arte de Queens!
En esta session seguimos con el tema de el estudio del natural: tomates y limones fueron nuestros temas a pintar.
Observamos un video donde nos explicaban las técnicas aprendidas anteriormente: mojado sobre mojado y mojado sobre seco, para realizar primero un tomate rojo con luces principal, medio tono, contraluz ademas de su respectiva sombra.
En la segunda parte de la clase, hicimos unos limones amarillos y verdes.
El maestro hizo demostraciones de las técnicas mencionadas y de como usarlas para poder darle volumen a nuestros objetos con la ayuda de la luz.
En esta sesión, consideramos la dirección de la luz sobre un objeto, es decir, de donde viene la luz; así como también la sombra que este objeto crea con relación a la luz.
Este ejercicio fue muy interesante, porque nos hizo controlar mas las tonalidades de los colores que usamos, tomando en cuenta un elemento muy importante dentro de el arte: el claroscuro o estudio de la luz sobre los objetos.
Les agradecemos el haber asistido a esta clase, ya que el clima y la nieve dificultaron un poco la movilidad; así mismo les reiteramos nuestras felicitaciones por los advances logrados en cada sesión: los cuales son fruto de su dedicación y trabajo constante en cada clase.

Dear New New Yorkers, we started the fifth session at our home: The Queens Art Museum!
In this fifth session we continued with the study of the natural: tomatoes and lemons.
We watched a video explaining the techniques learned previously: wet over wet and wet over dry, to paint a red tomato with light, mid tone, and shadows.

In this session, it was necessary to consider the light’s orientation on an object, it is: where the light comes from; as well as the shadow that this object creates with relation to the light.
In the second part of the class, we made some yellow and green lemons.The teacher did samples about the techniques mentioned and how to use them to be able to give volume to our objects with the help of light.
This exercise was very interesting, because it made us to take control the colors’ hues that we used, paying attention to a very important element within art: the light over objects and their shadows.
